Savannah State University Housing

Peacock Hall Exterior 2The goal for the project is to provide new residential accommodations through both historic renovation and new construction to encourage social interaction and outdoor activities, while also blending in with the existing campus aesthetic of Savannah State University. The project called for the addition of a 170,000 s.f., 601-bed, student housing complex. The new student housing facilities, which are located near the historic circle of the campus, consist of three buildings (Camilla Hubert Hall, Tiger Pointe, and Tiger Place) consisting of double occupancy (2 persons) semi-suites sharing one bathroom. An existing dormitory was demolished as part of this project. The project also included the renovation of two existing historical buildings as common areas, and the addition of hardscape and pedestrian areas surrounding the new buildings. Many specimen trees were saved as a part of this project in order to maintain the character of this historic section of campus.
