Mt. Bethel Christian Academy
Upper School Academic Hall + Convocation Center
Cobb County, Georgia
Smith Built Construction Group broke ground on the new Upper School Academic Hall in July 2025. The academic building designed by Croft & Associates will serve as the new home for students in grades 9-12. The current academic building will then be renovated to accomodate MBCA's middle school. The dining hall in the lower level of the Academic Hall will serve both the Upper school and the future lower school building.
The Convocation Center will feature a new performance gym with seating for 1,000 spectators, a black box theater, and designated spaces for wrestling and cheer.

A new driveway and decel lane on Post Oak Tritt will serve as the primary gateway into the campus academic and athletic facilities. A new parking lot will serve the Academic Hall, Convocation Center, and future lower school. ADA accessible pedestrian connections were provided to integrate the new buildings into the existing campus. Site utilities were designed to incorporate the existing building and master planned to account for the future lower school.

Mt. Bethel Christian Academy
Upper School Campus
Cobb County, Georgia
Mt. Bethel Christian Academy (MBCA) purchased this parcel in 2014 to establish a new campus for the Upper School after outgrowing its Lower School campus. The campus sits on 33 acres of wooded rolling hills with a scenic lake and was formerly the home Marcus Jewish Community Center. The existing child care building was transformed by Gardner Spencer Smith Tench Jarbeau's design into a lodge style academic building for students in grades 9-12. The renovated building will serve as the new home for students in grades 9-12. The campus has a gymnasium, swimming pool, baseball/softball field, tennis courts, and a field for soccer and lacrosse. The renovation added a decorative patio overlooking the pond plus a decorative canopy and entry foyer to the front of the building. Gay Construction completed the building in time for the 2014 school year.

Stonehaven School
Upper School
Cobb County, Georgia
As part of the master campus expansion plan, Phase 1 includes a three-story, 23,742-sf upper school building designed by Collins Cooper Carusi architects and constructed by Hodges and Hicks. Site infrastructure was designed to incorporate the existing school building and master planned to account for a future lower school and gymnasium buildings called for in the campus master plan.
The internal parking and drive aisles were designed to provide enhanced queuing for student drop-off and pickup. To meet Cobb County stormwater management requirements, the design incorporates an infiltration trench that removes at least 80% of total suspended solids (TSS). The system retains and infiltrates the first 1.0 inch of rainfall on-site, with any excess runoff directed into the adjacent dry extended detention basin.

Movement Charter School
College Park, GA
What was once a 68,000-sf office building adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport was converted into a tuition free charter school for PreK - 5th grade by LS3P's Charlotte office. This fast tracked renovation required a near-complete interior demolition and build back which provides classrooms, administrative offices, cafeteria, library and media space, a combined auditorium/gym, and a hands on marketplace where students are introduced to banking concepts and financial literacy. Exterior renovations included a new dumpster, grease traps, and the conversion of a service yard into a playground. Choate Construction completed the project in time for the first day of school on August 1, 2025.
